Description
Founded during the Heian period in Murasakino to ward off epidemics, Imamiya Shrine preserves distinct local traditions across its quiet grounds. It houses the Orihime-sha sub-shrine, long venerated by Nishijin textile weavers, and hosts a handmade flea market on the first day of every month. Framed by photogenic torii gates and largely spared from dense tourist crowds, the setting maintains an unhurried community rhythm.
