Three preserved buildings trace the lived history of one of Dallas County's oldest African-American communities.
Description

Set in west Irving, the heritage center chronicles local community life and the wider African-American experience from emancipation through the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and '60s. The site brings together three distinct structures—the Bear Creek Masonic Lodge, The Green House, and the J.O. Davis House walk-through museum, which displays well-preserved neighborhood artifacts. A native plant garden rounds out the grounds.
