Ivar's Acres of Clams
4.3 (9,589)restaurant
A Pier 54 fixture pairing classic Northwest chowder and seafood with front-row views of Elliott Bay and passing ferries.
Description

Inside the revamped space, the restaurant preserves its maritime roots with exposed fir beams from the original 1901 pier and a restored Galbraith-Bacon & Co. sign. Diners can sit in the expanded dining room or out on the open-air patio deck, watching Puget Sound water traffic alongside fireboats from historic Fire Station #3. The kitchen prepares founder Ivar Haglund’s legacy recipes alongside seasonal catches like Dungeness crab, Manila clams, and wild Alaska salmon. For a quicker bite on the pier, the attached walk-up Fish Bar serves take-out chowder and fish ‘n chips—with the customary seagull audience waiting nearby.
