Mohammed and Jamila Ismail originally launched Italian Express on Western Avenue to address the city's need for Zabiha halal fast food. Now on Devon Avenue, the kitchen supplements its wings and pizza with an unexpected draw: pani puri and dahi puri. Inside, the dining area is cosy with a slightly modern touch, kept as a welcoming, family-friendly space focused on hearty portions served hot.
