Description

Designed by Tokyo architects Hideki Shimizu and Kazuyuki Matsushita, the Seattle Center landmark anchors a 220-foot bowl around a 27-wide stainless dome. Its water choreography is set to scheduled playlists ranging from classical pieces to Northwest rock. Following a 1995 rebuild and a 2021 overhaul that modernized its jets, lighting, and mechanical systems, the basin operates on fully recycled, treated water while functioning as an open gathering spot with surrounding views.
