🪄 Molly, the Shop and the Room Out Back

Kelly Clarkson posted about a recent visit to Art of Play and said a staff member described Molly, a singing mechanical bird in the shop, as for sale. The shop replied that Molly is fixed to the wall, belongs to its magic shows and was never for sale, and that staff had offered to connect the singer with Seattle artist Bliss Kolb, who built it.

The shop sits at the start of Atlantic Avenue, with puzzles, games and magic themed objects that staff encourage visitors to pick up. Browsing needs no ticket, Tuesday to Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM, and the shop is closed on Mondays.

Out back is 69 Atlantic, a 26 seat theater open only to guests 21 and over, built for close up sleight of hand. A 7:15 PM show runs about 75 minutes with complimentary wine, and late arrivals are not seated. Seats cost 125 dollars, or 200 dollars in the front row, before tax, and the October runs are already sold out.
