Description
Constructed in 1923 as a successor to the Lyric Theatre, this playhouse showcases Herbert Krapp’s trademark Adam-style architecture, defined by its elaborate ornamental panels and a recessed ceiling. For a century, the venue has functioned as a dedicated home for musical theatre, housing iconic runs of Fiddler on the Roof, Les Misérables, and Dreamgirls. Its wide, rectangular auditorium is purposefully engineered for proximity, maintaining crisp acoustics and intimate sightlines that characterize the experience. While the space preserves a distinct sense of Roaring Twenties grandeur, the facility’s scale means that its restroom capacity is often pushed to the limit during intermissions.
