Idle Hour
4.5 (1,356)bar
A 1940s barrel-shaped landmark serving craft cocktails, backed by a spacious patio with a novelty bulldog fireplace.
Description

Built in 1941 as part of the programmatic architecture movement, Idle Hour was restored by the 1933 Group to preserve its original roadside character. Behind the giant wooden barrel facade, the room opens into a warm, nostalgic interior framed by a barrel-vaulted ceiling and a vintage fireplace. Alongside the drinks, the kitchen serves comforting American tavern fare to anchor the historic North Hollywood space.
