Description

Purchased in 1939, much of what stands today was assembled by the Howell family from leftover building material. Generations held onto the property even as others left the neighborhood, until four brothers banded together in the early 2000s to turn their family shop into a spot for desserts, food, and photos. The alleyway took on wider significance after the 2010 floods, when an artist painted the mural to help bring a struggling city together and mark local resilience.
