Houston Civic Art Collection | Axis Mundi

Installed inside the Talento Bilingue de Houston building, the work is separated by a stage, with each half measuring 11 feet tall and over seven feet wide. Executed in acrylic on canvas with dye and ink on plywood, the composition distributes continents and icons across the hall. The left panel charts Africa, Europe, and Asia alongside a US coin, a yellow calla lily, and handprints. Across the room, the right panel plots Asia and the Americas, pairing the Mayan mask and anatomical heart with a coiled blue and white snake.
