Started on Chicago’s South Side in 2021 by brothers Amer and Mutaz Abdullah and partner Kinan Moufti, this Brown- and Muslim-owned counter operates with humor and an ethos rooted in “faith, fun, and hip hop.” The menu, developed with chef Amado Lopez, extends beyond staple tenders to the signature “Popeyes Ain’t Sh!t” chicken sandwich and the Hot Honey Butta’. Sides include Cheat Day Fries loaded with hot honey butter, mac and cheese sauce, Alabama white sauce, cilantro, and chopped chicken tenders, flanked by house-made drinks and food-hall-exclusive specials.
