🗺️ Two stops, Miracle Mile to Arts District

🧟 Stop 1 · Academy Museum of Motion Pictures

Arrive by 3:45 PM and leave at 5:45 PM, before the galleries close at 6:00 PM. A regular adult ticket costs 25 dollars, and visitors 17 and under enter free. The 18 dollar Last Looks rate starts at 4:30 PM, though it leaves barely an hour for two exhibitions.

The Horror Show runs from a corridor called The Hallway into six themed rooms on Level 4, and next door Zombies! stages a pretend cemetery around an animatronic puppet built by Spectral Motion. The museum is closed Saturday, October 17.

🕯️ Stop 2 · The Obscure

Devil's Quarter runs at The Obscure on Fridays and Saturdays through October 31, with seatings listed from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. Aim for a 7:30 PM seating or later, checking what is still on sale, which leaves room for the drive across town in Friday traffic.

The two seated, guided hours pour three spirits distilled in house and absent from the regular menus, then three original cocktails, while hosts tell ghost stories. Seats list at 65 dollars plus a booking fee, tax and tip included, and some tiers have sold out. Entry is 21 and over.

🚗 From screen monsters to spoken ghosts

One explores how filmmakers create fear, and the other turns ghost stories into a guided cocktail experience. Leave the museum by 5:45 PM and expect Friday traffic on the drive east. The Rising Sun, next door to the distillery, is the place to eat before the tasting, and a sit-down dinner squeezed between the two stops is a stretch on this timeline. Keep Saturday, October 17 off this plan.
