Set atop Punchbowl Crater, this Pacific war memorial pairs solemn courts of honor with galleries of mosaic battle maps.
Description

Administered by the American Battle Monuments Commission within the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, the site honors more than 28,000 American military personnel who lost their lives in the Pacific during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Alongside its central court, the grounds incorporate the Courts of the Missing, a 33-foot-tall statue of Lady Columbia, and non-denominational chapel galleries that record regional military operations.
