Description

First envisioned in 1903 by landscape architect John C. Olmsted, the 2.5-mile route was designed for slow transit and unhurried appreciation of nature. Today, the corridor accommodates driving, walking, and cycling side by side, pairing a paved pedestrian path alongside the road with striped bike lanes. Scenic pullouts along the drive open toward the Willamette River and Mt. St. Helens, while the surrounding grounds hold picnic tables, a playground, and the Eagle Point Nature Patch.
