Hollywood Stories Told at the Gates of Old Las Palmas

Two hours by open cart past golden-era homes tied to Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable and Elizabeth Taylor, told stop by stop.

PS Home Tours drives small groups through Old Las Palmas in open electric golf carts for about two hours, stopping at houses its listing ties to Hollywood's golden era. The names run from Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable to Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland and Dean Martin.

This is a storytelling tour: the guide talks at each address, and some houses show little more than a gate or a roofline.

As of October 27, 2026, the booking calendar shows departures at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, though not every slot runs every day. One booking takes up to five travelers, and the price covers bottled water and a welcome gift.

Old Las Palmas, One Address at a Time

The listing sets the ride in Old Las Palmas and promises both Spanish colonial and mid-century houses. Its list runs well past Monroe, Gable and Taylor, through Lucille Ball, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, Debbie Reynolds and Gene Autry, and it says Dinah Shore's old house now belongs to Leonardo DiCaprio.

Some properties are visible only as a gate, a garage door or a roofline, and a few travelers left disappointed for that reason. The operator says it has since dropped five of the hardest-to-see houses from its list. Expect a celebrity-story tour rather than an architecture tour, even though many of the houses are mid-century designs.

Two Carts, One Narrator

A departure can run two carts that travel together, with the narrating guide in the lead cart and a second driver close behind. The listing caps one booking at five. The operator's own booking page caps a whole tour at ten and will not promise seating arrangements unless you book a private cart.

Couples and small groups can end up in different carts; the operator promises seats together only on a private cart. Everyone listens through earpieces. One rider in the second cart lost the audio when a car slipped between the carts, and the operator says its receivers reach about 150 feet. The listing puts an electric fan and a mist sprayer at each seat.

Kids, Mobility and the Desert Heat

Children are welcome, with infants riding on an adult's lap, and one parent wrote that their young kids loved it. The listing rates the ride suitable for all fitness levels, and the operator's booking page calls it easy. Neither the listing nor the operator mentions wheelchairs; use the special requirements field at booking to flag any mobility needs.

One summer review describes riding in 110-degree heat, so book the earliest departure open on your date.

Weather Calls Come Before Dawn

Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund; after that, the booking is not refunded. The operator can also call off a tour for bad weather. It says it checks the forecast before dawn and emails its decision, and one February cancellation went out at 5:51 AM. Check your email before driving in on a windy morning.

As of October 27, 2026, the booking calendar lists adults 13 and up at USD 159 and children 1 to 12 at USD 95. Gratuities are not included, and there is no hotel pickup.

📍 Meet at the corner of Museum Way and South Belardo Road downtown, a few steps from the 26-foot Forever Marilyn statue, and look for the cart.

The operator asks everyone to arrive 10 minutes before departure for a short orientation. Riders say the included welcome gift comes out at the end, a small send-off after two hours of Hollywood stories.
