Historic Pier Views and a Public Kayak Launch

Explore a quiet Red Hook waterfront, with Lady Liberty sightlines, passing ships, and a place to put in.

Try the public kayak launch.

🌊 Red Hook on the Water

Where Ferris Street meets Coffey Street, Louis Valentino, Jr. Park and Pier gives Red Hook a quiet front door to the harbor. The historic pier lines you up with direct views of the Statue of Liberty, and a public kayak launch lets paddlers put in right from the park.

Past the pier, the waterfront lawn is a front row seat for passing ships and the Manhattan skyline. Strollers and ship watchers get plenty of benches, and golden hour pulls a steady crowd of photographers chasing the sunset over the water. Dogs are welcome, street parking is close, and there are shops nearby for a stop before or after.

The park is open Monday through Sunday, 6 AM to 1 AM, which leaves room for an early morning walk along the water or a late harbor stroll after dinner, with the skyline glowing in the distance.
