Description

An on-site historical marker outlines the engagement north of Nashville, where Confederate forces on the south bank targeted the 31st Ohio Volunteer Infantry across the Cumberland River. During the artillery barrage, the two sides swapped brisk rifle and musket fire, resulting in light casualties before the Union encampment was destroyed and Morgan's troops withdrew upriver.
