Description

Located on the east side of Floyd Bennett Field, New York City’s first municipal airport, Hangar B is home to a project that meticulously restores and rebuilds aircraft dating from the 1900s. Visitors can explore the collection up close, viewing historic planes alongside photos of aviation figures like Amelia Earhart, Igor Sikorsky, and Charles Lindbergh. While visitors are free to wander independently, volunteers frequently step in to share specific restoration stories and aviation history. Admission is free, with donations supporting the volunteer-run upkeep.
