Hilltop Trails and Picnic Lawns Above the LA Basin
Walk ridge trails, spread out on shaded lawns, and take in wide city views at a hilltop park near Culver City.
🌳 Up on the Ridge
Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area climbs across the Baldwin Hills between Culver City and South Los Angeles, with paved and dirt trails that rise toward open ridgelines. You can picnic under the shelters, shoot baskets on the courts, or follow a path until the whole basin opens up below. On a clear afternoon the view runs from the downtown towers to the ocean haze in the west. Lawns and eucalyptus groves fill the lower terraces, and the grades stay gentle enough for a family walk. Ratings sit at 4.7 across more than 7,000 visits. It sits at 4100 South La Cienega Boulevard, a quick climb from the 10 freeway.
