Hayden Butte

Also known as 'A' Mountain, this preserve park rises directly beside Mill Avenue and the Salt River. The route shifts underfoot between uneven terrain, intermittent stairs, and tall stone steps reaching up to three feet high, flanked by local flora on the way up. At the summit, the climb opens into wide vistas stretching toward the river in one direction, the city in the other, and a direct vantage point for watching landing airplanes.
