Cared for by the volunteer Friends of Hawthorne Park at 12th and Catharine Streets, this compact space centers on an open lawn, benches, and game tables. Beyond casual afternoon picnics, the grounds serve as an intimate outdoor venue for free public events, including Shakespeare performances, yoga sessions, and neighborhood arts fairs. With no elaborate attractions on-site, its rhythm is shaped by everyday local use, remaining a steady destination for walking leashed dogs at all hours.
