Description

The 4.2-mile roundtrip route serves as an accessible introduction to ridge hiking on Oʻahu, winding through a dense strawberry guava forest and native plant restoration areas into the Pia Valley Natural Area Reserve. Expect wet terrain and muddy sections along the trail. Reaching the path also comes with a strict checkpoint: parking at the top of the private Hawaiʻi Loa Ridge neighborhood requires a state of Hawaiʻi or military ID.
