🌮 Tortillas With a Story

Tucked onto Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side, Nina's Great Burrito Bar sends out saucy tacos with a cup of rich red broth, bright green salsa, and lime wedges on the side. The kitchen builds on handmade tortillas and founder Nina Guzman's famous mole, the dish worth planning the order around.

The story runs deep. Adelina Nina Guzman and her family opened the original Great Burrito in 1994, and the spot later reopened with restaurateur Jeremy Wladis. Today the menu stretches those longtime recipes into specialty street food, cocktails, and classic pairings, with a back bar stocked for a second round.

Timing is the thing to know. The doors stay open until midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 2 AM on Friday and Saturday, yet the kitchen closes at 10 PM Monday through Thursday and at 11 PM the rest of the week. Order food before then, grab a spot near the cactus by the bar, and let the cocktails carry the rest of the night.
