Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve
4.6 (2,117)park
Sheltered inside a volcanic cone, this marine sanctuary offers calm snorkeling among native reef fish and sea turtles.
Description

Along Oahu’s southeast coast, the bay curves inside a breached volcanic tuff cone, lined by open sand and grassy patches. In the water, flourishing coral reefs harbor hundreds of native marine species, with occasional sightings of green sea turtles and seals.
Preserving the delicate habitat directly shapes the visit: guests must watch an educational conservation video before entering, and access is kept under strictly managed daily visitor capacities to curb crowding across the beach and reef.
