Hanauma bay

Set along Oahu’s southeast coast, the preserve pairs a sandy beach with hundreds of species of Hawaiian reef fish and green sea turtles. Reaching the shore requires watching an educational conservation video at the education center and utilizing reef-safe sunscreen. Amenities include rental facilities, lifeguards, and a tram service for the hill, while a trail climbs to views from the top of the bay. Entry is strictly managed, and fish sightings can vary later in the day alongside noticeable crowding.
