Gumbiner Park
3.1 (48)park
A former street trisection turned green space, pairing a skate park and playground with public art near local museums.
Description

Developed from the trisection of 7th Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., and Alamitos Avenue, the park incorporates sustainable design through recycled pavement and a bioswale to retain and filter stormwater. Picnic spaces and a performance area add room to gather, while the layout enhances access to neighboring cultural institutions. The site is named in honor of Dr. Robert Gumbiner, the healthcare pioneer who founded both the nearby Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) and the Pacific Island Ethnic Art Museum.
