Guava Smoked
4.7 (793)restaurant
A casual Kapahulu spot cold-smoking meats and fish over local strawberry guava wood before finishing them on the grill.
Description

Inspired by a recipe from Kauai, the kitchen uses invasive strawberry guava wood (wai'awi) to tenderize and flavor lean cuts, finishing them in the oven or on the grill rather than cooking in the style of southern barbecue. The lineup features spicy pork, duck, chicken, and loco moco, alongside smoked pork lunch plates served with white rice. Situated on the second floor with an entrance on Campbell Avenue, the relaxed setting also includes a balcony for sitting outside.
