Founded in 1990 by Sylvano and Maida Bignon, the cafe reflects the owners' European background in its casual lounge format and communal rhythm. The room operates as an all-hours meeting place from breakfast service through late night, marked by a signature mirrored sign declaring “Where There is Love, there is Life.” Over the years, the tables have drawn a steady cross-section of the neighborhood, regularly bringing together artists, athletes, and local politicians alongside long-time regulars.
