Description

Part of the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area, the 17-acre site rises up to 45 feet and takes its name from early-1600s merchant Joseph Green. Salt-tolerant vegetation and sumac cover the ground, though there are no docks, walking trails, or visitor facilities. Due to aggressive bird behavior, public visitation is discouraged, particularly during nesting season.
