Description

Maintained by the Newport Historical Society, this historic landmark preserves its original 17th-century character through exposed framing timbers and tiered wooden benches. The interior remains famously plain, echoing the traditional Quaker aesthetic while functioning as a space for weddings, community celebrations, and cultural gatherings. While the barn-like structure offers an austere and intimate environment for live performances, the acoustic quality remains a subject of practical trade-offs for visitors. Beyond its role as a venue, the grounds serve as a central site for local programming, including Newport PrideFest.
