Description

Spanning nearly 313 acres in the Loop, the park connects major cultural anchors including the Art Institute of Chicago and Maggie Daley Park alongside the Museum Campus. Built in 1927, Buckingham Fountain provides a monumental centerpiece engineered to preserve lakefront views across the surrounding gardens, tennis courts, and baseball diamonds. The expansive grounds also serve as a historic gathering point, hosting civic milestones like Barack Obama’s 2008 victory speech alongside Chicago’s largest festivals, including Lollapalooza and Taste of Chicago.
