Plan a Bronx playground break.

🌳 A Neighborhood Hangout

Governor Smith Playground keeps its Bronx roots close. This neighborhood hangout has been part of local life for nearly two decades, and returning residents remember spending their teen years here. The layout has shifted over time, while the familiar community character remains.

Today, modern play structures share the park with plenty of seating. You can make room for an active stretch, then settle down while the afternoon carries on around you. Green turf and tiered bleachers give the sports area an athletic backdrop. Tall chain link fences rise around the perimeter, with brick apartment buildings beyond them.

Find it at 335 East 152nd Street. The park opens at 7 AM and closes at 6 PM daily, leaving a daytime window for a stop between plans. Keep the evening for another destination, and give this pocket of the Bronx a little room in your afternoon.
