Gordon Parks: Voices in the Mirror

Revisiting images by Gordon Parks, the exhibition pairs iconic photographs with written reflections from the people and families he documented. For the very first time, families such as those of Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X share their perspectives on the photographs and their enduring power. Titled after Parks’ final memoir published in 1990, the presentation explores the collaborative relationship between the photographer, his subjects, and their families as he captured the struggle for equality alongside the perseverance of Black excellence.
