4.4 (467)museum
Set on an 1851 estate, this museum features original film costumes, rare memorabilia, and pieces of the Tara movie set.
Description

Amassed over 30 years by collector Vicky Lynn Rogers, the archive bridges Margaret Mitchell’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and the 1939 screen adaptation. The literary holdings include rare foreign editions and original scripts, while production history surfaces through Dan Sayre Groesbeck’s 1939 premiere painting and six Walter Plunkett costume sketches. Key gallery spaces focus on detailed wardrobe pieces, featuring Rhett Butler’s jacket, Bonnie Blue’s riding outfit, and Scarlett O’Hara’s Bengaline honeymoon gown. Beyond the central rooms, pathways through the gardens lead to the estate's Carriage House, where architectural fragments from the Tara facade are preserved.
