A 1768 Boston Post Road tavern and Loyalist hub, preserved with six generations of original family heirlooms.

Description

Col. Isaac Jones established the tavern along the thoroughfare between Boston and Worcester, operating it as both a working wayside inn and a family home. During the Revolutionary War, British spies and soldiers gathered on site, leading to Jones's temporary arrest. Today, the historic house retains period architecture, furnishings, and artifacts that reflect colonial New England's daily life and sharp political divides, with more than 70 percent of the collection original to the Jones family, who lived here for nearly two centuries.
