Description

Standing in Carlisle's Monument Square, the Soldiers’ Monument was dedicated on August 29, 1885. It was made possible through gifts from two sisters, Mrs. Lydia A. G. Farrar and Miss Hannah L. C. Green, and designed by Andrews and Wheeler of Lowell. Along with its distinct sculpture, the memorial records the names of 13 Carlisle men who died in the war.
