Global Convergence

Standing 12 feet tall, this permanent public sculpture by Alabama-based artist Deedee Morrison anchors the Orange County History Center Plaza at Central Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue. Part of the See Art Orlando contemporary collection, the piece consists of an aluminum-slat globe clad in translucent blue panels lit from within. The panels feature a printed school of native Florida Shoal Bass, though reactions range from captivating illumination to dismissals of its industrial fan-like appearance.
