Description

Landscape architect Wolfgang Oehme designed the space pro bono in 1983, shaping it through the New American Garden Style to let loose, varied plantings push against an orderly, geometric footprint. Dedicated in 1988 by Ronald Reagan and Helmut Kohl to commemorate 300 years of German immigration and friendship, the park underwent a multi-year revival unveiled in 2022 that introduced newly rebuilt fountains alongside updated beds and restored hardscapes.
