An outdoor bowl on Stanford's campus featuring tiered grassy slopes and a natural acoustic design for concerts and events since 1937.
Description

Opened in 1937, this landscape architect Thomas Church and architect Leslie Kiler collaboration uses a natural bowl-shaped landscape and grassy slopes to frame the stage and enhance acoustics. The venue hosts eclectic events, bands, shows and major concerts, pairing broad lawn tiers with an atmosphere that can feel surprisingly personal, sometimes intimate despite the capacity.
