From Willie Nelson's Statue to SoCo's Murals, by E-Bike

A two-hour guided e-bike loop through downtown Austin and South Congress and across Lady Bird Lake, with the guide on a walkie-talkie.

Ride an e-bike from Willie Nelson's statue to SoCo.

This is a two-hour guided loop of central Austin on electric bikes, leaving from a shop on West 5th Street and finishing back there. The operator estimates 90 to 100 minutes of riding and 20 to 30 minutes at stops, and its own site calls the guide's tour a 10-mile ride.

The operator says its e-bikes come easily to anyone who can ride a regular bicycle, and riders who have trouble handling one in the test ride do not join the tour. Before the group sets off, each rider gets a safety briefing and that test ride in the parking lot.

The booking below is the Ride-Along with Good Vibes option, with separate child, youth and adult rates. One booking takes up to fifteen travelers. Cancel at least 24 hours before the start for a full refund.

Willie Nelson, the Love Murals and the Pfluger Bridge

The booking page and the operator's own itinerary share the same core stops: the ATX sign at Whole Foods, the Austin Central Library, the bronze Willie Nelson statue, the Tau Ceti mural, South Congress with its "I love you so much", "Love from Austin" and "Greetings from Austin" murals, and the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge over Lady Bird Lake. You roll past the Congress Avenue bat bridge, Butler Park and the Mr. Rogers and Wonder Woman murals without stopping.

The booking page also lists the Capitol, the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue and a 30-minute food-truck stop; the operator's itinerary for this ride leaves all three out, though its introduction mentions the Capitol. Neither the listing nor the operator includes food, and the only drink provided is bottled water. One 2023 traveler wrote that the guide "takes different routes every day".

Who Leads the Ride, and How You Hear Them

Walkie-talkies are part of the kit, and one traveler describes a radio strapped to each bike so the guide can talk to everyone even when the group rides single file in traffic. The operator's page promises tunes, stories and jokes along the way, and one rider suggests requesting a song.

The operator's site profiles Rooster, a retired third-grade teacher, and many of the reviews are about his rides. He does not lead every departure: reviews on this booking page also name guides called Tyler and Hollywood. Several travelers say their guide took photos of the group at the stops.

Heights, Ages and the Seat on the Back

Children 5 to 11 ride as passengers behind an adult driver, as long as they are at least 3 feet 6 inches tall; the bikes have extra-long seats and passenger foot pegs. Riders 12 to 17 can drive their own bike at 4 feet 8 inches or taller, with a parent or guardian along who gives written consent.

The operator's step-through bikes fit riders from 4 feet 8 inches and the step-over model from 5 feet 1 inch, and each bike is rated for up to 325 pounds, rider included. Adult places on this listing cover ages 18 to 70, and the booking form asks for each rider's height and weight. The listing does not recommend the ride for travelers with poor cardiovascular health.

Finding the Lot Behind 5th Street Market

As of October 2026, the listing's calendar and the operator's own booking system both run this ride at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM Monday to Saturday, and at 10:00 AM on Sunday. The operator's homepage still shows 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM with no Sunday ride; the time on your booking is the one to follow.

Arrive 15 minutes before your start time for the briefing and test ride; late arrivals may miss the ride or be rescheduled, and the operator says it cannot refund at that point.

The meeting point is behind a building called 5th Street Market at 1114 West 5th Street. Turn off West 5th onto Sayers Street to reach the lot at the back, where parking is free. The operator tells riders to search for Portland Leather in their map app; that shop shares the lot.

Every rider fills in the operator's registration form and signs its waiver before the ride, with a parent or guardian signing for minors. Wear closed-toe shoes and sunscreen, then let the guide's playlist carry you across the lake.
