From the Brewhouse Floor to a Barbecue Table in Charlotte
A beer guide drives, picks the pours, and works a barbecue stop into a four-stop run through Charlotte's brewhouses.
Charlotte's breweries do not cluster. Petty Thieves is on Dalton Avenue, Protagonist is on Southside Drive, and City Brew Tours lists eight partner breweries scattered across the city. Reaching four of them in one afternoon is a driving problem before it is a drinking one.
The tour answers it with a van. One guide collects up to fourteen guests from a single hotel driveway, runs the loop, and brings everyone back to the same curb five hours later.
Every guest needs closed-toe shoes, and the breweries themselves enforce that with no exceptions.

The lineup rotates. On the sample itineraries City Brew Tours publishes, Saturdays run Petty Thieves, HopFly, Midwood Smokehouse and Lower Left; Sundays run Armored Cow, Petty Thieves, Midwood Smokehouse and Wooden Robot. Protagonist, The Suffolk Punch, Ass Clown and Armored Cow appear on the alternates lists.
Two things hold steady across both. The barbecue stop sits third, and all four stops come with the behind-the-tap access the company sells as VIP.
Twenty-one and over only, with identification required at pickup.

At each stop the beers arrive already chosen. City Brew Tours puts the day at up to sixteen styles and says its beer guides curate the selection. No list comes to the table, and the usual stall at the chalkboard never happens.
That shifts what a stop is for. Tasting runs alongside the behind-the-scenes portion the company builds into all four.
Gluten-free beer is not something the company guarantees at any stop.
Stop Three Trades Tanks for Barbecue

Midwood Smokehouse takes the third slot on both published itineraries. It is a Carolinas barbecue restaurant with several Charlotte locations, and City Brew Tours lists the course there as a beer-pairing meal.
Timing decides what that meal is. The 11:30 AM van eats in the early afternoon. The 5:30 PM van puts the same course at dinnertime and is back at the driveway around 10:30 PM.
Between stops everyone rides. The company calls the vehicle Benny the Beer Van and describes it as a fifteen-passenger van, with air conditioning listed among the inclusions.
Who the Van Has Room For
Service animals are allowed. Folding wheelchairs fit the seated vans on private bookings only, which leaves this public departure out.
The listing calls the tour not recommended for pregnant travelers and suitable for all physical fitness levels. Dietary restrictions are handled at booking, and most can be accommodated when you say so while reserving.
Thursday Through Sunday, Two Departures
Viator sells Thursday through Sunday at 11:30 AM and 5:30 PM, the same two departure times City Brew Tours publishes. Booking closes two hours out and confirms instantly.
Four travelers is the floor. Both sides say a departure can be cancelled when fewer than that book.
Pickup is the driveway of The Westin Charlotte at 601 South College Street, in Uptown. The guide waits by the van in a Beer Guide uniform. Give your name and get on; no printout is needed, and City Brew Tours asks guests to skip driving themselves and arrive by car service or transit.
Weather cancellations are called at least twelve hours before departure, and a tour the company cancels is refunded in full. Through this listing, cancelling on your own side is free up to twenty-four hours out.
The 11:30 AM van is back at the same driveway by late afternoon, with the rest of Uptown a short walk from the curb.
