From an Oddities Shop to San Antonio's Lady in Gray
A guide walks the group from a shop beside the Menger Hotel, past the Alamo, to Military Plaza, telling ghost stories on the way.
Sisters Grimm runs this walk out of its own shop on Blum Street, the small alley between the Menger Hotel and the Rivercenter mall. For ninety minutes a guide leads the group through Alamo Plaza, Main Plaza and Military Plaza, which the operator counts as the three oldest parts of the city, and tells the ghost stories tied to the buildings along the way.
Nobody goes inside; every stop is told from the street. The operator says most of these buildings are private homes, working businesses or museums.
Reviewers on the booking page keep mentioning the same prop, an iPad the guide holds up to show old photos of the people and places in each story.

Tickets are priced per person. On this listing they start at age 7, the child price runs through age 15, and one booking holds up to ten people. As of October 26, 2026, the booking calendar shows departures most nights at 8:00 PM or 8:30 PM.

Check-in happens inside the shop, then the group steps out to the Menger Hotel next door. The operator's own tour notes call it the most haunted hotel in Texas.
From there it is a short walk to the Alamo. The listing gives the Menger and the Alamo about fifteen minutes each, all of it outside. Expect to stand while the guide talks. The Alamo's own October 2026 construction update says scaffolding goes up along the front of the Alamo Church in November, ahead of preservation work.
It Ends With the Lady in Gray at Military Plaza

From Alamo Plaza the route heads west through Main Plaza, where San Fernando Cathedral stands, to Military Plaza and the Spanish Governor's Palace. The listing's stop there is about the Lady in Gray, a figure said to appear at the palace. The operator's own stop list also names the Old Bexar County Jail on Camaron Street. That 1878 building is now a Holiday Inn Express, and the Texas Historical Commission lists it as a State Antiquities Landmark.
The stories end at Military Plaza, west of the start, and the listing says the guide then walks the group back to Alamo Plaza. Reviewers on the booking page describe the finish both ways: in 2022 and 2024 the guide walked them back to the start, while in 2020 and 2026 the tour ended away from it, and the 2026 reviewer found their own way back from about ten blocks off.
Walking, Ages and Dogs
The operator rates this walk medium-high for effort, puts it at a little over a mile and a half round trip, and asks guests to wear proper walking shoes. For wheelchair users it recommends an electric scooter only; the walk is long and hard going for anyone pushing a chair.
Tickets on this listing start at age 7, and children need an adult with them. Dogs are welcome on this walk.
A few reviewers mention struggling to hear the guide in a big group. Standing near the front at each stop is the easy fix.
Bring ID and Leave Video Off
Check-in is inside the Sisters Grimm Oddities Parlor 15 minutes before the start, where you pick up the wristband that marks you for the tour. Bring an ID that matches the name on the booking; the listing says it has to be shown at check-in.
Late arrivals are not refunded, and the operator says tours leave on time. Photos are welcome along the route; video and voice recording are not. The walk goes ahead in rain, and the operator cancels only for severe weather. Tips are not included, and the operator puts the custom at 15 to 20 percent.
📍 Sisters Grimm Oddities Parlor, 204 Alamo Plaza, Suite T, on Blum Street beside the Menger Hotel and across from Starbucks.
- Driving: the listing says not to use GPS for this address. Park at the Rivercenter mall's Crockett Lot, walk through the mall and out the double doors onto Blum Street, and the shop is on the right. The mall's parking site lists the Crockett Lot at 824 E Houston St and says its lots are open 24/7 and charge posted rates through Metropolis, which recognizes your car at the gate instead of handing out a ticket.
- Walking: set GPS for the Menger Hotel, face its front, and look to the right. The shop is across the alley from Starbucks.
- Cancellation: this listing refunds in full up to 24 hours before departure.
The last stop is the Spanish Governor's Palace on Military Plaza; the listing says the guide walks the group back to Alamo Plaza from there.
