🥖 Baguettes Named for Icons

French sandwiches in the East Village get a crusty, award-winning base at Le Petit Parisien, a cozy shop at 32 East 7th Street. Imported French ingredients fill the baguettes, and the small space works as both pastry spot and deli for quick bites.

The lineup borrows names from French icons. Beyond the classic jambon beurre, look for the Jeanne D'Arc with artichokes and mushrooms tucked inside, alongside the Brigitte Bardot. Smaller baguettinis come topped with goat cheese, tomato and arugula, and French onion soup turns a sandwich into a fuller meal. An eclair makes the sweet finish, and the staff is known for warm service.

Baguettes are served unheated, worth knowing before you order. Hours run from half past eight in the morning to half past six in the evening Monday through Friday, and from 9 AM to 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
