French Bistro Meets Rooftop Seafood
A French bistro and a rooftop seafood room in Manhattan: calm midday plates against open-air evening energy, two contrasting formats.

A Manhattan French Bistro Built for Calm
Benoit New York pairs red velvet banquettes with a bright, modern wine bar at 60 West 55th Street. Alain Ducasse’s Midtown bistro serves classic French fare, and chef Lucile Plaza crafts seasonal menus. A cheese plate with drinks can suit a shorter stop, while the menu also accommodates a full meal. Hours are 11:30 AM to 9:15 PM daily. The lighter interior keeps the traditional bistro character, and attentive service supports a relaxed pace.

Rooftop Seafood and Evening Energy
At 21 9th Avenue, Catch New York pairs rooftop views with sushi, seafood, and hot dishes in a Rockwell Group-designed Meatpacking District setting. Stanley Xu leads the sushi program, while options such as Wagyu Fried Rice and Angry Lobster Pasta suit group dining. Dinner starts at 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 5:00 PM Friday through Sunday. The venue does not permit underage guests after 8pm, and athletic wear and hats are banned.

Bistro Calm Against Rooftop Noise
Alain Ducasse’s Benoit New York centers on classic French cooking in a bright wine bar with red velvet banquettes, welcoming guests from lunch through dinner. Catch New York takes a different approach, pairing rooftop views with sushi, seafood, and shareable plates in the Meatpacking District. One favors a composed setting for wine and cheese selections, while the other builds an evening around communal dishes such as Wagyu Fried Rice, alongside strict dress rules and an age limit after 8pm.
