Description
Opened on July 4, 1976, Jim Ellis Freeway Park spans 5.4 acres designed by landscape architect Lawrence Halprin and architect Angela Danadjieva. Regarded as a masterwork of modernist urban design, the park was planned to reconnect the Downtown and First Hill neighborhoods, serving as both a functional green space and an interactive work of art.
