Freehand New York

In Manhattan’s Flatiron District, Freehand New York fills the former George Washington Hotel, a building once home to storied writers, musicians, and creatives. Roman and Williams shaped the interiors, and custom-commissioned artwork by Bard College students and alumni appears throughout. Visitors have called out the comfy beds, the cosy wood-and-beige rooms, and the rooftop bar that gives the place a neighbourhood feel. There’s also a handy cafe for breakfast, with a Starbucks across the road.
