Freedom Trail Foundation
4.7 (400)attraction
Preserves Boston’s 2.5-mile red-lined trail and runs guided tours connecting 16 historic landmarks.
Description

Active since 1964, the organization supports the route through educational programming, visitor services, and its dedicated Preservation Fund. That fund directly finances capital projects and rehabilitation work to mitigate weather damage and everyday wear across official 17th-, 18th-, and 19th-century historic sites. On the ground along the city walkways, the Foundation coordinates walks led by guides providing historical context across the trail's stops.
