5.0 (65)cafe
Run by an exonerated local and his barista wife, this North Philly cafe pairs hand-sifted matcha with genuine warmth.
Description

Sentenced to life at eighteen for a 1995 North Philadelphia murder he did not commit, Eugene Gilyard spent more than fifteen years in prison before his conviction was overturned through the Pennsylvania Innocence Project. On Old York Road, Gilyard works the front of house to connect with visitors, while his wife, Najwa Anderson, applies her barista background to craft drinks, pairing slow-poured lattes and fresh pastries with her neighborhood-favorite matcha.
