🎉 Lafayette Block Celebration

🎧 Brooklyn DJs and Your Own Vinyl

The street outside BAM Rose Cinemas turns into a free party for one Saturday afternoon, hosted by Playback and The Soapbox Presents. Music comes from local Brooklyn DJs, and Bring Your Own Vinyl is on the bill. For the record crowd, the crate you carry is half the point. Food and drink are part of the day, and this is the street fair inside Playback, the inaugural two-day festival BAM presents with Spike Lee and Clara Wu Tsai.

🎨 Katie Merz and Double Dutch

Artist Katie Merz puts work on the block, and Double Dutch takes over the asphalt in front of the cinema. Everything sits outdoors on the avenue, within a block of the BAM doors. You can drift from the ropes to the DJ and back, or sit on the curb with food and watch. The outdoor street party is free and first-come, first-served; film screenings require separate tickets, and the street is the whole room until five.

🚇 Getting There and Getting In

It runs Saturday, November 7, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on Lafayette Avenue between Ashland Place and St. Felix. Admission is free and first-come, first-served, and an RSVP does not guarantee entry, it only keeps you on the update list. The Lafayette Avenue C stop is a three-minute walk, the Atlantic Avenue station about five minutes south. Fort Greene Park is twelve minutes north for a walk before or after.
