🎭 Art Meets the Lot

In Long Island City, Culture Lab LIC turns a former industrial lot into a free arts stop with a gallery, an outdoor performance area, and a calendar that moves between exhibitions, theater, and live music. Start inside, then follow the program outdoors when summer concerts bring the lot into play.

Friday brings free jazzy performances, with beer, wine, soft drinks, and popcorn available on warmer Fridays. Workshops add a hands on edge, including programming about famous women in Queens, while residency programs support local performing artists. The weekend schedule keeps Saturday and Sunday open from 2 PM to 9 PM, while Thursday and Friday run from 5 PM to 9 PM.

Bring a friend who likes a little structure with their culture, or come solo for an afternoon that can move from gallery walls to live sound without leaving Long Island City. The whole operation runs as a nonprofit, and the music, art, and theater stay free.
